I grew up in Greater Cleveland and graduated from Muskingum College. I studied Art and Art History in Bregenz Austria. After graduation I set up a studio, and for almost 30 years operated Davis Pottery and Gallery in Chautauqua Lake NY.  In 1999 I retired, and since then have concentrated on my paintings.

I work mainly in watercolor, and also egg tempera and acrylic.

Since I usually paint places I care about and visit often, my paintings are part of my history.  They are the people, places and scenes in my life. Having spent most of my life in Cleveland and Chautauqua, these areas continue to inspire me and many of my paintings represent this.
