JUNE MEETING
Euclid Art Association’s Monday, June 7the meeting will be held in Fellowship Hall of East Shore United Methodist
Church, 23002 Lake Shore Blvd., Euclid. The entrance is through the back door of the church. There is an elevator
to reach the lower level and Fellowship Hall. Limited parking is behind the church, or across from Marc’s Pharmacy
door. The doors of the church will be open at 6:15 p.m. The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. and is open to the public.
A $2.00 donation is suggested.
Refreshments will be served after the meeting and program. The hosts for the June meeting will be Maree Swaffield
and Carolyn Swaffield.
The monthly Board Meeting will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at 10 a.m. in the North Street Gallery, 21129
North Street, Euclid. Chairpersons of committees are asked to be present and all members are invited.
ELECTION
The Nominating Committee presented the following slate of officers at the May meeting. President, Lee Peters;
Vice President, Lisa Urankar; Treasurer, Joanne Jacobsen; Secretary, Lisa Urankar. Since there were no
nominations from the floor the slate was accepted as presented. Officers will be inducted at the regular June
meeting.
Michelle Brown has accepted the position of Membership Chairman for the 2010/2011 year. Thanks, Michelle
PROGRAM
The time is here again for our Members’ Art Critique which gives you an opportunity to have one of your pieces of art
critiqued by a local artist. This year our guest is Charles L. Diehl who has been since 1997 a Professional Artist and
Consultant, and also a Member of the Board and Painting and Drawing Instructor at Valley Art Center. Prior to that
he has held various positions at Columbus College of Art and Design, Kendall College of Art & Design, State
University of New York College at Buffalo, University of Cincinnati, Bradley University and Ohio University. His latest
awards are Juror’s Award Lakeland Community College New May Show, and Third Place, Painting, Gates Mills
Juried Exhibition. In addition to teaching Painting and Drawing at the Valley Art Center he paints and exhibits
regularly, offers private adult instruction in painting and drawing, and serves as an art consultant and juror in the
region. Let him tell you how you might improve your work

Elinor Korow entertained us by presenting her program on oil/pastels. She was happy to answer the many questions
she received from the audience. Thank you, Elinor.
And thank you to JoAnn Klak and Helen Penza for providing the refreshments.
REMINDER - IMPORTANT
Dues for the 2010/2011 year are now due. You are urged to bring your check payable to the Euclid Art Association
to our June meeting. Otherwise, please mail it to Michelle Brown, 20560 Miller Avenue, Euclid, OH 44119, as
promptly as possible. W ork will soon be starting on our next membership booklet and it is important to have all
members listed therein.
Three members took advantage of our new-member discount program. They will be able to deduct $5.00 from their

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
This year the Euclid Art Association’s Margaret E. Hain Scholarship Award has been awarded to Euclid High School
student, Olivia Oltmanns. A one year EAA membership is also given to the winner and we hope to see her at this
and future meetings, perhaps with samples of her artwork. Good luck Olivia.

MEMBERS’ EXHIBIT AND RECEPTION
Our show is now open and will be open until July 5 . The Gallery th is located at 35400 Chardon Road (Route 6),
Willoughby Hills, OH 44094.across from the Willoughby Hills Town Hall and Fire Department. A wine and cheese
reception will be held on Friday, June 4th from 7 to 9 p.m. Please invite your friends and tell your neighbors to come

NEWS ABOUT MEMBERS
Happy 100th birthday to honorary member Marian Struna. Lee Peters obtained a proclamation from Mayor Cervenik
and presented it to Marian at her birthday party. It was well received. Marian was an active member of EAA for
many years and served as historian for much of that time.
Bill Pappas won an award at the Lakeland Community College New May Show Juried Art Exhibition for his
photograph, “Hot Springs Abstract.” Good for you, Bill.
Lee Peters was pleased to have three photographs accepted in the Lakeland show, and also had a photo accepted
at Fairmount Art Center 34th Annual Art Exhibition.
Stan Klak, Joanne Jacobsen and Harry Pierson will have a showing of their artwork at the Osborne Plaza of
Breckenridge Village from July 5th to August 2nd. The gallery is open from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Monday,
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. On Tuesday it remains open until 9:00 p.m.. For other times please call Joanne

CITY HALL EXCHANGE
Thanks to all who brought pictures to the City Hall Exchange. The employees do appreciate our sharing our talents
with them, and there is always the possibility of selling a bit of your artwork. Thanks, too, to Michael Wardrope and
to all others who helped with this program.

The Lakeland Community College New May Show will run through July 9th and is well worth your seeing.
The 30th Annual Wildwood Fine Arts & Crafts Festival is scheduled for Sunday, June 27th, from 10:30 a.m to 5:00
p.m. at the Wildwood Cultural Center, 7645 Little Mountain Road. It is sponsored by The Creative Artists
Association, The City of Mentor’s Wildwood Cultural Center, and the Community Arts Commission. For more
