When I retired from the corporate world after 30+ years,  I was looking forward to trying all the things I hadn't been able to do while working.  As a result,  I indulged my passion for gardening and cooking.  I decided to study ikebana (Japanese flower arranging).

Since I had always done crafts, a friend introduced me to decorative painting and I took classes from various teachers, locally and nationwide.  I painted on various functional surfaces for many years and still do when the mood strikes me.

One day another friend asked me if I would like to try a water color batik painting class.  This sounded intriguing, but I had never done any watercolor painting previously.  Well,  this one class lead to another and then watercolor classes.  I was definitely hooked on water medium painting.

I have been fortunate to study with several teachers.  Dorothy Geissert teaches at Wildwood Cultural Center in Mentor, Ohio, and  has helped me to develop my own style of watercolor painting.  Another teacher I have had the pleasure of studying and traveling with is Kathie George, OWS/FWS who lives in Kettering, Ohio.  I have traveled to France and Italy with Kathie on painting adventures and will be going to Spain with her in 2015.

I keep watercolor journals of my travels in Italy, France and a cruise down the Rhine and Danube rivers with my husband in 2011.  But, I always go back to painting my first love, which is flowers.

I joined Euclid Art Association in 2013.  I currently serve on the Board as Refreshment Chair.
