Most of my works are an expression of the joys I get from first conceptualizing the subjects, the intense focus and engagement from creating them and then observing my creations. Since I love bright colors, I interpret flora, fauna, landscapes, abstracts and people with vivid colors. Walking in forests and meadows allows me to immerse myself in nature which inspires me and breathes life into my psyche. Nature and art are the healing forces that have been my therapy after my husband's death.
Graphite, colored pencils and markers are used for my portrait and figure studies. My evenings are spent drawing from models who are located all over the world while either on the Zoom application of from Facebook. I belong to five drawing groups that meet online regularly.
Watching YouTube videos taught me to pour acrylic paint. Lately I have been experimenting with Monoprinting patterns on paper with Gelatin Plates and using the painted papers to create collages. Teaching these new techniques at demonstrations and workshops have given me opportunities to share these freeing and enjoyable art forms.
